Paper Cutz Challenge # 62

2 posts in 1 day...WAHOO!! I had some free time today on my day off to put together a card for the paper cutz challenge. You can find the challenge HERE . The challenge was to make a card or layout using ONLY the colors red, black and white. The first thing that came into my mind was a ladybug, so this is what I came up with :

It of course was made using Create a Cirtter :) I used the ladybug, hearts and the saying all from that cartridge. I used some red glitter paper (might be hard to see) and used an EK Success border punch at the bottom of the white sheet of paper. I put some foam tape on the hearts and the ladybug:

At first I was going to try to emboss on the glitter paper, but that didn't turn out at all, so instead I cut out Love Bug and put each word in the heart. I love the way it turned out!!! I hope you all have a chance to head on over to Mary's blog and join in on the challenge and check out some of the amazing projects over there :)

New Cards...

Hello Everyone :)

Hope you all had a great weekend. I had the time to make a few card and thought I'd share them with you. The first one was made using the Create a Critter cartridge. Here's what I came up with :

The paper used was from the DCWV Autumn stack. I cut the shape the squirrel is on with the create a critter as well. Simple card that I think turned out great. I love the colors...really feels like a fall card. Not sure if you can see it, but I used a fiskars texture plate to put some texture to the top of his little acorn. I added some white stitching around the outside of the card as the last touch. I haven't stamped anything on this card and will stamp something when it's ready to be sent out.

The next card was made for my Aunt who came over to the house for a surprise visit. She's so much fun and I wanted to send her a card to say Thank You. Here is her card:

I used the DCWV Miraposa paper stack to do this card. I love the shinny paper that surrounds the frame and that the Thank You is stamped on. I took a chipboard frame and covered it with the blue paper and cut out one of the butterflies that was in the pack and put it inside the frame. The larger butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch. I punched the butterflies and then flocked them with some blue and green flocking. I added a few cloud 9 dew drops to each side of the Thank You strip and finished it off with the stamp. I hope she likes it :)

Thanks for checking in today and I'll have more cards and projects up soon.

Happy Birthday (Momo scraplift)

Hope everyone is having a great week so far...the weekend is not too far away! I was lucky enough to be able to have some free time tonight to FINALLY break out my new Create a Critter cartridge and have some fun. I saw a video Momo did a while back using this cartridge and knew that I wanted to scraplift it :) you can see Momo's card HERE. She has a video of her making the card as well. If you've never visited Momo's blog before, I HIGHLY recomend it! She's A-MAZING! Here is my version of her card. I don't want to say it's Momo inspired because it's more scraplifted than inspired...but she truly made me want that cartridge just to do this card alone. My boyfriends nephew just turned 4, so this is the card I'm giving to him

I put the train and train cars on foam tape and then put the animals and the number 4 straight onto the card. I love the way it turned out! Ever have a card you've made that you hate to give away? Sounds crazy, right? I had another birthday for another little boy and came up with this creation:

Even though the card was for a little boy, I had to add some glitter paper. Both cards are super cute and I'm just happy I was able to get in the craft room to create! Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week!

I am super excited to get off work tomorrow and head home to play with my new toy. I ordered in "Create a Critter" and can't wait to open it up. I've wanted it for so long and already have several ideas running around in my mind. Next cartridge up on the list is "simply charmed". Sorry to make this so short, but just wanted to check in and make sure everyone is enjoying the blog hop :)

Cardztv Challenge

Good Morning, everyone :) Hope everyone is having a great Thursday! We are almost to the weekend, my friends. I decided to participate in Mary's challenge over at Cardztv . Her challenge was to make a card and NOT use your cricut. I have some great halloween paper from K&Company that had some cute little spiders on it so I thought I would cut one of them out and make a quick card. I did this late last night so the picture I took is not the greatest. Here is my creation

I have a fiskars texture plate that has a spider web, so I used some colored core paper and embossed it. I then took a basic grey file and sanded the web to reveal the color underneath. I put a few strips of paper at the bottom and used a Happy Halloween stamp. A few brads on either end and I was all set.

I'm so excited to be able to participate in my first challenge and the fact that it was Mary is icing on the cake :) Can't wait to see what everyone else came up with. Thanks for stopping by.

Welcome to blogsville :)

Finally the time has come for me to get a blog. I'm new to crafting (to be honest, I've spent more time collecting and shopping for crafting supplies than I have actually MAKING something) and have been a fan of a lot of your blogs so I thought I would get one of my own. I'm excited to share some of my creations with you and to be able to do some challenges as well. I thought it would be a fitting first blog to share how I got into card making. Truth be told, I really don't know how it all happened. I started collecting some supplies and more supplies and more supplies and thought to myself, "Self, we gotta start USING some of these things we've purchased". My boyfriends grandmother got really sick and was put into a nursing home and I was asked if I could buy her a card and put it in the mail to cheer her up. I could do one better...I could MAKE her a card and send it to her. Once I made a few of them, I was hooked. I then was introduced to the wonderful world of Youtube and the rest is history!! I've been an avid video watcher and blog hopper behind the scenes for months now and thought I'd come join the fun. I will be sharing creations here, but doubt I'll ever make it into the video world. Never say never though :) I also thought it would be fitting to share with you 4 ladies that have been my "go to" blogs and videos once I started making cards. These 4 ladies are full of talent and are so kind to share it with all of us. If you've never visited any of their blogs, please go take a look at their AMAZING work. WARNING: Do so only if you have some extra time...I've been known to jump on their blogs and majorly lose track of time!!!

Let me know what you all think of these wonderful ladies and be sure to leave a link to any other blogs in the comment section so I can check them out.
